According to the economic industry, on the 8th, Samsung Electronics scored an overall score of 7.56 points and ranked 45th in the World’s Most Admired Companies list recently announced by Fortune for 2024. This is a three-step drop from last year’s 42nd place.

Every year, Fortune ranks the most admired companies by evaluating nine criteria, including innovation, human resource management, efficient asset management, and social responsibility, surveying over 3,700 corporate executives, non-executive directors, and securities analysts worldwide.

Samsung Electronics fell out of the top 50 in 2022 but re-entered last year’s ranking. Previously, it first entered the Top 50 in 2005, ranking 39th, and climbed as high as 21st in 2014.

Samsung Electronics is the only domestic company to be in the top 50. Samsung Electronics took first place in the electronics industry in the rankings classified by Fortune.

Among Asian companies, only three companies, including Samsung Electronics, Toyota Motor of Japan, and Singapore Airlines, made it into the top 50.

Apple in the United States took first place for the 17th consecutive year, followed by Amazon (2nd) and Microsoft (3rd) for the fifth consecutive year. Following them were Berkshire Hathaway (4th), JP Morgan (5th), Costco (6th), Alphabet (7th), American Express (8th), and Walmart (9th). Notably, NVIDIA, which owns the graphics processing unit (GPU) chip that plays the role of the brain in generative artificial intelligence (AI), recorded its highest-ever ranking at 10th.

Although they did not make it into the top 50, LG Electronics (6.76 points), LG Display (6.53 points), and Hyundai Mobis (6.19 points) were included as Korean companies among the “World’s Most Admired Companies’ 317 companies selected by Fortune. It was the first time Hyundai Mobis was included in this list.
