According to the report, Harvard will start offering “Taylor Swift and Her World” in the spring semester next year. The course will examine Swift’s music world in various cultural contexts, from her life and music career to fan culture.

According to the course description posted on the Harvard website, students will study “how to think about White texts, Southern texts, transatlantic texts, and queer subtexts.”

They will read literary works that influenced Swift’s music, including poems by William Wordsworth and novels by Willa Cather. Also, study female artists who paved the way for Swift’s music career, such as Dolly Parton, the queen of American country music.

Stephanie Burt, a professor of English at Harvard in charge of the course, told TMZ that because Swift has incorporated her relationships with people into her songs, “we will also talk about her relationships.”

She added that NFL player Travis Kelce, known as Swift’s boyfriend, is included in this. However, he will not be heavily discussed unless Swift releases a song about him.

Previously, the University of Florida and New York University also introduced courses on Swift. NYU awarded Swift an honorary degree, and gave a commencement speech at the university last year.
