Chinese Actress Sun Yi Denies Dating Rumors Despite Released Photos

Chinese actress Sun Yi (30) has been swept up in a dating rumor after being spotted holding hands with an unknown man.

On March 14, 8 World revealed photos of Sun Yi on a date with a man seven years her junior.

The photos show Sun Yi enjoying dinner with her date last month. She covered her face with a hat and face mask but was easily identifiable. The two held hands after dinner and continued their conversation on an evening stroll.

The anonymous man allegedly appeared as a guest on a Chinese reality show, although has not officially debuted. Sun Yi became acquainted with him after appearing on the same show.

Sun Yi and the man had previously sparked dating rumors last year after a photo was released of the two attending a Jay Chou concert. Though raising many suspicions from this viral photo, the two denied dating.

Sun Yi’s fans could not hide their bewilderment with the release of the recent photos, sharing reactions such as “Did she lie to her fans last time?”, “I believed her when she first denied it, but now I feel betrayed,” and “Is she gonna deny it this time?”

Amidst declining public approval, Sun Yi took to Weibo with a message that appeared to downplay the relationship. “Thank you for your interest,” she wrote, “Please leave him alone.” Her post has since gone viral, garnering 45,000 comments.

Sun Yi was previously married to actor Dong Zijian in 2017 and divorced in 2021.
