Netflix to Bring Studio Ghibli Magic: ‘The Boy and the Heron’ Streaming Soon

The Boy and the Heron, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, will be released on Netflix.

On March 21, KST, Yahoo Japan reported that Netflix announced extending its partnership with film distributor GKIDS.

Netflix revealed plans to release Studio Ghibli’s works globally, excluding Japan and the U.S., and confirmed the future release of Hayao Miyazaki’s latest work, The Boy and the Heron.

According to the report, 22 Studio Ghibli films, including Princess Mononoke and My Neighbor Totoro, are set to be unveiled on Netflix. Miyazaki’s new film, The Boy and the Heron, is also pending release and is expected to be available in the second half of 2024.

Teasing the arrival of an “Oscar-winning fantasy adventure,” Netflix has successfully heightened anticipation for this Studio Ghibli masterpiece.
