GSoul’s Shocking Scandal: Allegedly Steals Alcohol While Intoxicated

Singer-songwriter GSoul (birth name Kim Ji Hyun) has been charged with stealing alcohol from a convenience store.

According to a report from Sports Seoul, GSoul was caught stealing alcohol from a convenience store in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, around 11 PM on April 19. At the time of the incident, GSoul was confirmed to be heavily intoxicated.

GSoul is currently known to be abroad, and the police plan to summon him for an investigation soon.

Meanwhile, Park Jin Young discovered GSoul when he appeared on SBS’s 99% of the Gifted Development Project in 2001 at 14. After training with JYP, he debuted with the mini album Coming Home in 2015.

Since his debut, he gained recognition by winning the final round of Mnet’s Voice Korea 2020 and featuring in the semi-finals of Show Me the Money 9 with artists Coogie and Justhis.

Last year, he left his agency after ending his exclusive contract with Warner Music Korea, where he had been for two years. At the time, the agency said, “After long discussions about future activities, both GSoul and our company have mutually agreed to respect each other’s opinions and terminate the exclusive contract upon its expiration. We deeply appreciate GSoul’s efforts and dedication as an artist with Warner Music Korea.”

Earlier this year, on January 11, 2021, he announced through his social network service that he had changed his stage name from Golden back to GSoul.
