On the 20th (local time), the U.S. State Department expressed concern about the possibility of Russia transferring technology to North Korea concerning North Korea’s military reconnaissance satellite launch plan.
State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller, in a briefing that day, responded to a question about the possibility of Russian technology being transferred to North Korea’s satellite launch by stating, “I will not comment on the reported event,” but added, “The U.S. is concerned about North Korea’s ballistic missile and other military programs.”
Miller’s spokesperson responded to a question about President Yoon Suk Yeol’s statement during the interview with The Telegraph, saying, “Our position is very clear: Russia should not transfer technology to North Korea, and North Korea should not provide weapons to Russia.”
According to Japan’s NHK broadcast, Japan’s Coast Guard received an email from the North Korean maritime authority in charge of ship safety notifying them of the launch of an artificial satellite from midnight on the 22nd to midnight on December 1.
