It has been revealed that soldiers of the key unit operating the Korean-style three-axis system in response to North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats have been drinking alcohol in the unit during the early morning hours.

According to military authorities, on the 8th, a private first class, surnamed Shin, affiliated with the Army’s Missile Strategy Command, secretly brought two bottles of vodka from the base exchange to his dormitory on the 2nd and started a drinking party with two fellow soldiers in the unit’s barbershop around 3 a.m. the next day.

They invited two more soldiers while drinking. Among them was a soldier who was on night duty. The soldiers had a drinking party within the unit at a time when North Korea’s military provocations were expected since the beginning of the year. The drinking party was discovered while a duty officer was patrolling.

An Army official stated that a disciplinary committee will be convened on the 10th for the soldiers involved in drinking incidents, and the maximum measures will be taken. Additionally, they mentioned that an inspection and thorough assessment of the unit will be carried out under the direction of Missile Strategy Commander Lee Doo Hee.
