President Yoon Sends Well Wishes to King Charles III Amid Cancer Diagnosis

On the 7th, President Yoon Suk Yeol expressed his condolences to King Charles III of the UK, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, saying, “I look forward to seeing you again in good health.”

President Yoon posted this in English on his X (former Twitter) the same day.

Furthermore, President Yoon added, “My heart and prayers are with you and the royal family.”

The British royal family previously announced on the 5th (local time) that King Charles III had started treatment after discovering cancer during treatment for prostate enlargement. They stated it was not prostate cancer but did not disclose the type or stage of the cancer.

King Charles III, who is 75 years old this year, ascended to the throne in September 2022 after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, at the age of 96. President Yoon and First Lady Kim Keon Hee had previously met King Charles III during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral and their state visit to the UK in November last year.
