The Casper EV, which Hyundai is preparing to launch, is a compact SUV that meets domestic compact car standards while raising the overall height to complete an SUV style. Recently, the test car for the camouflaged Casper EV has been spotted several times, increasing anticipation.

Although the complete look has not been revealed, there is a realistic 3D conceptional image based on the appearance of the test car, which has been captured up close, creating a buzz. The YouTuber “stuBio” made the picture and shows detailed design changes from the Casper internal combustion engine model.

Application of Pixel Lamps to the Front
Rectangular Headlamps

The front of the car features the pixel lamp used in the Ioniq, completing a futuristic electric car design and simultaneously presenting a differentiated look from the existing Casper. The pixel shape is also applied to the graphic pattern of the turn signal.

If you look at the photos of the test car that were previously released, you can see the pixel-shaped design protruding from the camouflage. The daytime running lights maintain the same low position as before, but the details have changed. The circular headlamp has been replaced with LEDs and is arranged in a thin rectangular shape resembling an “=.”

Rounded Front
Taillight Pattern Changed

The front design is composed of a more angular and protruding skid plate. The front has been changed to a rounder shape to create a futuristic feel that is authentic to an electric vehicle. The height of the second-row window has been lowered to the same level as the first row, potentially providing a more improved sense of openness inside.

The wheel design with a square pixel pattern was applied, as seen in the test car. The rear also used the design of the pixel pattern in various places. The graphic pattern of the taillights, which had a triangular pattern, has also been modified to a pixel pattern, and the brake light located on the top of the rear spoiler has also applied a smaller pixel pattern, harmonizing with the taillights. The rear skid plate is finished neatly.

Turn Signals and Reflectors
Changed to Rectangular Shapes

The reflector is also designed in a disconnected shape like the front, and the circular bulb-type rear turn signal and the reverse lights located at the bottom of the rear have been changed to a divided rectangle like the front headlamp. The square-pixel pattern was actively utilized to solidify the image of the electric vehicle.

The Casper EV aims to launch in the second half of this year. The body is the same as the existing internal combustion engine model. It is expected to include a 35.2-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, which will likely enhance its price competitiveness. It is expected to deliver a maximum output of 87 horsepower and a maximum torque of 15.0 kg/m, and it is anticipated to be able to drive up to 200 miles on a single charge.
