Why a Mother of Four Used 30 Pads a Day! Rare Condition Revealed

A woman who had to use up to 30 sanitary pads a day due to her heavy menstrual flow was diagnosed with a rare condition known as uterus didelphys.

The Daily Mail reported that Jade Williams, a mother of four, started experiencing problems after giving birth to her first child in 2012. Despite having three more children, she continued to suffer from heavy menstruation, leading to an uncomfortable lifestyle that involved using large sanitary pads or wearing two pairs of underwear at a time. She was prescribed various medications at the hospital to control her menstrual flow, but none proved effective. Fast forward to 2023, Jade Williams visited a different hospital and discovered that she had two uteruses.

Uterus didelphys, a condition that appears in 0.3% of the population, is often discovered after puberty. To alleviate concerns over menstrual cramps and heavy flow, Jade Williams had an IUD, a contraceptive device, inserted into one of her uteruses. Jade Williams shared, “Since the bleeding has been under control, I have been able to go back to work — and I’ll be able to wear shorts and dresses for the first time this summer.” She added, “This condition ruined my life for ten years, and we need more research into it. I want more women to be aware of it and more information out there.”
