Zootopia-Themed Park Hits Shanghai Disneyland This Winter
Exciting news has been delivered to Disney fans. Shanghai Disneyland in China will be the first in the world to introduce a theme park that recreates the movie Zootopia. On the 24th, the official Disneyland blog introduced the Zootopia-themed area that will open this winter.

The themed area perfectly recreates the desert, tropical rainforest, tundra, and the city and square of Zootopia, where small animals live.
Zootopia is a city where small and large animals live together. The name combines “Zoo,” which means zoo, and “Utopia,” which means paradise, to describe a dream city where carnivores and herbivores live together peacefully.

The revealed attractions include the Hot Pursuit ride. The ride involves the main characters, Nick and Judy, solving a case while riding in a police car-shaped vehicle. It’s a fast-moving ride that zips around various locations in Zootopia, such as the tundra, Sahara, and square and features drops and spins.

In the park, you can also try the ice cream that appears in the movie. They’ve recreated the animal paw-shaped hard ice cream and elephant ice cream. Over 200 new character souvenirs and toys will be launched, including headbands, bags, children’s toys, and blocks.

The themed area is scheduled to open on December 20. Disney said, “From the moment you step in, a unique spin-off for each visitor is born,” and “Visitors will be able to feel like they’ve become characters in the movie.”
Shanghai Disneyland, the most recent of the 12 Disneylands worldwide, opened in 2016. It operates as a Disney Resort, including the Disney Hotel and Disney Town.
