The victim of the ‘Jeju Father’s Funeral’ school bullying case has shared a heartbreaking update.

Recently, a high school student in Jeju was dragged away by his classmates and assaulted on the day of his father’s funeral.

The victim referred to as Student A and his classmate Student B who attended the same school were forced to transfer schools due to his violent behavior.

However, even after transferring, B continued to summon A and commit acts of violence, even going so far as to assault A to the point of bruising all over his body on the day his father passed away.

The violence escalated after A’s father’s funeral. The perpetrators dragged A from a villa in Geonip-dong, Jeju, to a nearby park where there were no CCTV cameras and assaulted him for about two hours.

On April 4, the Jeju East Police Station charged Students B and C, who assaulted Student A, with joint assault.

A’s medical report stated, “There are symptoms of dizziness, headache, and left-sided hearing loss after being beaten by friends. A minimum of 3-4 weeks of drug treatment and follow-up observation is required.”

Ultimately, A was diagnosed with a four-week injury and was admitted to the hospital. A’s mother reported B and others to the police and informed the school of the situation. However, as they dropped out of school it became impossible to convene a school violence committee.

A’s family said, “He was vomiting blood and had a nosebleed, but they cleaned him up before sending him home in a taxi.”

In addition to dealing with the aftermath, it has been reported that A’s family is considering moving to avoid further retaliation and violence.

Meanwhile, the police are investigating B and others based on the victim’s statement.

  • None of the reporting follows logic. Poorly written and makes little seance. Dragged to a park? Beaten for 2 hours and the victim was cleaned up by bullies and sent home in a cab. It sounds more like a date rape.
