Maserati MC20 Folgore: The Electric Supercar to Watch in 2025

Maserati announced they will unveil the electric vehicle (EV) version of its supercar, the MC20, named MC20 Folgore, in 2025. Folgore is the term for Maserati’s EVs. The Folgore lineup includes the new Gran Turismo, a two-door coupe, and the Grecale SUV.

Maserati plans to expand the Folgore to the supercar MC20 by 2025. For the MC20’s internal combustion engine vehicle, it equips a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline twin-turbo engine in the midship. The new engine, named Nettuno, was developed by Maserati and assembled at the Modena factory in Italy.

The Nettuno power unit utilizes a twin turbo and dry sump lubrication system based on a V6 architecture with a bank angle of 90 degrees. With a displacement of 3.0 liters, it delivers a maximum output of 630ps/7500rpm and a maximum torque of 74.4kgm/3000-5500rpm. It’s a high-rev type with a red zone at around 8,000rpm, and the output per liter is 210ps. The compression ratio is 11:1, and the bore x stroke is 88x82mm. The 0-62 mph acceleration performance is less than 2.9 seconds, and the top speed exceeds 202 mph.

The BEV version MC20 Folgore, set to debut in 2025, is expected to perform similarly to the internal combustion engine vehicle.
