Most Powerful Car Ever: What to Expect from Kia’s EV8 Electric Car

Stinger successor model EV8
What will it look like?

After discontinuing Stinger, Kia has been rumored to develop a new successor model, the GT1. Recently, the production schedule for this GT was revealed to be set for 2026. The GT1 will be launched with an electric powertrain, and the model name will most likely be EV8.

The detailed design is expected to share a significant part of the previously revealed design of the EV4 concept car. Renderings based on this have also been released. As existing electric vehicles have been criticized for their uniform, futuristic designs, anticipation is building up for what the EV8 will look like.

Shares design with the EV4 with Starmap lighting installed

The overall shape borrows from the EV4. The front end features the signature Starmap lighting in other Kia electric cars. A horizontal DRL with vertical headlights emphasizing the car’s width follows the side wheel arch line, creating a balanced look. The bottom is composed of a sharp shape, giving it an aggressive appearance.

A thin, long Tiger Face grille connecting the lights creates a sleek look. The sidelines feature a fastback style, with the rear glass extending to the rear trunk and a rear spoiler added for an even sportier look. Considering aerodynamics, popup door handles are applied to complete a smooth side design.

Design of a high-performance vehicle with aggressive rear volume

The belt line rises towards the rear, and the rear glass and second-row quarter glass gradually decrease in size. Fluorescent brake calipers are added inside the wheel to emphasize the high-performance nature of the vehicle. The rear end is almost identical to the EV4 concept car. However, it is configured with more volume and increased size.

The EV8 is based on Hyundai’s next-generation electric vehicle architecture, eM. It will first be applied to the Genesis G90, which is set to launch next year. The first Kia brand it is expected to apply to is the EV8. The EV8 has a high-capacity 118.3 kWh battery, aiming for a driving range of approximately 435 to 497 miles on a single charge.

Delivers a high output of 612 horsepower with all-wheel drive

With a 272 horsepower electric motor in the front and a 340 in the rear, it delivers 612 horsepower, operating with all-wheel drive. This almost doubles the output of the Stinger’s twin-turbo V6 engine, but lower-specification trims are expected to offer a 435 horsepower dual motor and a 218 horsepower single motor.
