Tesla’s large electric sedan Model S has existed through the first generation model for over 12 years since its launch in 2012. Many consumers regret that a full-change model was not developed and launched long ago.

As these consumer opinions increase, designers who are aware of this are appeasing their disappointment by revealing renderings of the entirely changed (redesigned) version of the Model S one after another. Since there are no clues yet to infer the design, it was created based on the designer’s imagination.

Fastback roofline
Get a sharper look

Digital artist vBurlapp created the rendering of the newly introduced Model S, which includes a rearview. First, the slope of the A-pillar on the side was changed to be gentler, and a fastback line was applied, with the roof line continuing to the rear. It features lower heights and sleeker lines than before.

The front overhang is extremely short, which is expected to secure the wheelbase length and provide sufficient legroom for the second row. A circular line was applied to the fender to create a sleek look, and a hidden-type door handle was applied to the side. The side character line extends along the long side, and a curved line extending along the rocker panel gives it a more elegant appearance.

Horizontal ducktail spoiler
Applicable with thin light bar

The application of digital side mirrors is expected to be advantageous in aerodynamic performance and a low roof line. In the case of the window belt line, it rises towards the rear and touches the sharply falling roof line. This created a triangular rear quarter glass structure, creating a sharp, stabbing impression at the rear.

This structure is applied equally as one line digging into the rear from the rear fender and another line coming down from the roof line come into contact. At the rear, there is a newly designed horizontal light bar. The ducktail spoiler extending to the top was redirected horizontally, and a light bar was added.

Application of ㄷ shaped headlamp
Aggressive front end

Although the designer did not reveal the appearance of the front part, we took a brief look at it through another rendering. First, the headlamp was applied in a ㄷ shape, emphasizing its more angular appearance. Here, daytime running lights that light up like an ㄴ along the bottom line were used. The angled lines applied to the bumper are more protruding, creating an aggressive look.

Meanwhile, as renderings for the new Model S are unveiled one after another, consumer demand for a full change to the Model S is also increasing. As there has been no news of development yet, it is expected that it will take a considerable amount of time for the full-change model to reach the development and launch stage. Nevertheless, many consumer voices call for the Model S to be strengthened by applying the latest design and technology.
