Kia’s Sportage: New Design Details Revealed, Set to Wow SUV Fans!

Anticipated front of the new Kia Sportage

Kia, pushing its stock price this year, is preparing to launch the facelift model of its compact SUV, the Sportage. From January to May of this year, the Sportage recorded sales of 33,484 units, demonstrating increased popularity due to the rising demand for SUVs.

During the same period last year, it recorded sales of 29,666 units, highlighting an impressive increase in sales this year despite the imminent launch of the new model. Recently, the prototype of the new Sportage was spotted and is scheduled to be released by the end of this year.

Some design elements were revealed as prototypes captured with camouflage. The new Sportage will boost its competitiveness by applying Kia’s latest design, including the StarMap signature lighting. Recently, an anticipated design that captures the look of the new Sportage has appeared, attracting viewers’ attention.

The predicted design of the new Sportage, produced by the NYMammoth, is attracting attention as it differs from the previously released design. The lamp’s shape was partially revealed when the prototype was spotted, and the latest design applied to Kia’s new EV6 and EV3 was referenced to update the anticipated design.

Looking at the revealed anticipated design, changes in the DRL are noticeable. From the triangular shape of the current Sportage’s DRL, it has changed to Kia’s StarMap signature lighting, a lamp line composed of vertical and horizontal lines. In particular, it reflects the sleek upper DRL line that seemed to pierce towards the front fender, as seen in the new EV6.

In the previous anticipated design, the length of the top DRL was short. Still, in the latest projection, the DRL extends long toward the center, borrowing elements from the seamless horizon lamp. However, there is a slight gap in the center, which leaves it disconnected. At the same time, a vertical DRL line is added to EV3, Sorento, and Carnival. A black garnish is placed at the top of the headlamp where the turn signal was applied in the current model.

A vertical headlamp box is applied, deeply embedded, and aligned with the central grille. The robust headlamp and the DRL, which follow the full width and bonnet parting line, are expected to give a stronger look than the current model. The curved line that follows the front wheel arch line and extends to the front contrasts with the robust front.

The front grille features a bold grid pattern, and a vertical garnish is applied at the top and bottom of the grille. The bumper is redesigned to be more streamlined. In the previous anticipated design, the rectangular shape of the current model’s bumper grille was emphasized. Still, the latest anticipated design has a sharp, piercing shape at both ends, revealing a more aggressive look. This is also based on the elements applied to the EV6, reflecting Kia’s latest design elements.
