Top 3 Fuel-Efficient First Cars: Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, and…

Just like a hybrid vehicle
Is there an internal combustion engine vehicle with excellent fuel efficiency?
3 fuel-efficient models for beginners

Hybrid vehicles are known for their excellent fuel efficiency, making them a great option for many. However, they aren’t the right choice for everyone. Not only is the initial purchase price typically higher than that of a regular internal combustion engine vehicle, but there are other costs to consider. For instance, the cost of battery replacement can be significant, and repair costs tend to be higher due to the complexity of the hybrid systems.

As a result, hybrid vehicles may seem a bit distant to those new to society and do not have much money saved up. Fortunately, there are still vehicles with excellent fuel efficiency and stability among internal combustion engine vehicles. This time, we will look at three internal combustion engine vehicles with efficient fuel efficiency, high reliability, and stability.

Honda Civic, the first car
Recommended base sedan model

Honda’s Civic, known as the world’s most cost-effective sedan, has performance to match. It is always recommended to young adults or those who have just started driving because it has no major breakdowns. The Civic is available in hatchback and sedan models, with the sedan being the more fuel-efficient.

The base model Civic LX sedan is equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 200 horsepower. Its fuel efficiency is about 21 km per liter (49.4 mpg). The new vehicle’s price is less than $30,000, so we can purchase it without burden.

The Hyundai Elantra with a gasoline engine offers fuel efficiency comparable to a hybrid

The Hyundai Elantra is highly popular among new drivers, serving as a viable alternative to hybrid vehicles. One of the most appealing aspects of the Elantra is its affordability. The entry-level model is available for around $22,000, making it an attractive option for those looking for reliability and fuel efficiency without the higher costs associated with hybrids.

The Elantra Hybrid boasts a combined fuel efficiency of about 18.5 to 21.1 km/l (43.5 to 49.6 mpg), and its internal combustion engine is also impressive and formidable. The base model, 1.6 gasoline, shows a fuel efficiency of 14.8 to 15.3 km/l (34.8 to 36.0 mpg). The abundant interior options unique to Korean vehicles are also an attractive advantage. However, the high-performance Elantra N is not recommended for novice drivers.

Cost-effective German sedan
Volkswagen Jetta

We recommend Volkswagen’s Jetta if you want to feel the atmosphere and performance of a German premium sedan at a price in the low $20,000 range. The Jetta, equipped with a 1.5L TSI gasoline engine, has 160 horsepower, which is sufficient output and can secure a fuel efficiency of 14.1 km per liter (33.2 mpg).

We’ve explored three types of beginner-friendly vehicles that are affordable, boast excellent fuel efficiency, offer low maintenance costs, and promote economical driving. The Honda Civic is highly recommended if you value a straightforward, reliable driving experience. The Hyundai Elantra is an excellent choice for those who prefer a vehicle with many options. And if you want to experience a touch of German engineering, the Volkswagen Jetta is recommended.
