Cristiano Ronaldo, a global football star in Portugal, has produced but has become a despised icon due to frequent selfish behavior and embarrassing actions. He has no luck wherever he goes. Claims have emerged that the news of Ronaldo opening his local hotel for Moroccan earthquake victims is fake.

Moroccan sports journalist Izem Anas tweeted on his ex-Twitter account on the 10th (local time), “The news that Ronaldo opened the Pestana CR7 hotel in Marrakech to protect people affected by the Moroccan earthquake is completely false.” He said he contacted the hotel and confirmed that it was wrong.

Previously, the Spanish media Marca reported that Ronaldo opened his hotel Pestana CR7 in Marrakech, a medieval city in Morocco, to help the victims of the earthquake in Morocco, where more than 2,000 people died. At least 17 people were killed in Marrakech due to this earthquake.

The basis of this report from Marrakech is a Spanish woman living in Morocco who said in an interview with Spanish broadcaster 24 Horas, “Now we can get rooms at Ronaldo’s hotel.” However, this interview seems to have been misinterpreted in the reporting process as it was intended to urge Ronaldo to provide hotel accommodations, not to speak about her personal experience.

Moroccan online media Hespress also pointed out, “In this article, it is important to note that there is no mention of earthquake survivors receiving free accommodation at the hotel, except for the statement of a Spanish national.” This strengthens the argument that it is fake news.

The Pestana CR7 opened last year and is a 4-star hotel with 174 rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, spa, fitness center, business center, and more.

Ronaldo currently operates hotels in Marrakech, Lisbon, Madrid, and New York.
