North Korea claimed on the 30th that it had captured images of the U.S. naval base in San Diego and the U.S. Air Force base in Okinawa, Japan.

The Korean Central News Agency reported that the Pyongyang Comprehensive Control Center of the National Aerospace Development Administration had informed Kim Jong Un about the photographic data taken by the reconnaissance satellite. They provided details regarding the precise control of the reconnaissance satellite. The San Diego naval base had been photographed at 2:24 a.m. on the 29th in Pyongyang time, and the Kadena Air Force Base had been photographed at 10:16 a.m. They mentioned that Kim had expressed significant anticipation and contentment with the project.

North Korea has claimed that it has photographed the U.S. military bases in South Korea. Also, the military bases in Guam and Hawaii since its first reconnaissance satellite launched on the 21st. However, it has not released any related photographs.

The U.S. Department of Defense downplayed this: “There are plenty of images of the Pentagon and the White House online.”
