BMW’s SUV technology matches the excellence of its sedans. Particularly notable are the coupe-type SUVs, such as the X4 and X6, distinguished by their sharp roof lines. BMW has long received favorable reviews for these designs. Recently, the company continued to expand its unique coupe-type SUV lineup by unveiling the new X2 and iX2.

The most frequently used vehicle is the X4. It is larger than the X2, less expensive than the X6, and has excellent performance, so many consumers purchase it. The vehicle currently being sold is the LCI (Facelift model), and people are showing interest in the full-change model. Coincidentally, the expected full-change of the X4 has appeared overseas and is garnering attention. Let’s take a closer look.

Monotonous but detailed

Sugar Design, a designer specializing in overseas new vehicle rendering, has unveiled a full-change model rendering of the BMW X4. It feels very similar to the full-change version of the X3 recently unveiled by BMW, and in particular, the front headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights and the horizontal pattern kidney grille stand out.

Although the overall outline or body does not have the detail and muscular volume of the existing BMW SUV, the lines have been refined to create a future-oriented atmosphere. Another feature is that the front and rear bumpers are garnished with black to emphasize the sporty look.

The new X3 has not yet been launched
If the X4 is launched, the performance is expected to be similar

The rear roofline, which can be said to be the most important in a coupe-type SUV, falls smoothly and has a design similar to the existing X4 model. However, there is a clear difference in details, such as door handles and character lines. Elements that create a dynamic look, such as quad exhaust pipes and tail lamps, also exist.

The fully redesigned X3 model will feature a 48V mild hybrid powertrain and BMW’s latest iDrive9 operating system. It will be powered by a 2.0 Twin Power Turbo 4-cylinder engine that produces 255 horsepower and will include four-wheel drive. Similarly, the fully redesigned BMW X4 is expected to deliver comparable or even better performance.

Will the X2 replace the X4? That possibility seems slim

Some rumors are circulating that the BMW X4 may be discontinued and the X2 may replace it, but no specific information has been provided yet. However, in the case of the X4, a purely electric and hybrid version may be developed instead of the existing internal combustion engine version.

Streamlining the lineup may prove challenging since the X2 and X4 belong to different segments. Moreover, with various rumors circulating about BMW’s portfolio reorganization, the accuracy of these speculations will likely be confirmed only after an official announcement is made.
