U.S. National Security Advisor of the White House Jake Sullivan and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed repeated concerns about North Korea’s arms trade with Russia during a meeting on the 29th (local time).

The White House announced in a press release that “Sullivan and Stoltenberg met and expressed concern about North Korea’s arms exports to Russia and Russia’s procurement and use of North Korean weapons while at war with Ukraine.”

In July, the two also reviewed the agenda for the NATO summit in Washington, DC, and confirmed their commitments related to NATO’s defensive posture.

According to the White House, Secretary General Stoltenberg confirmed NATO’s unwavering support for Ukraine in its standoff with Russia. They also pledged military provision and defending all areas of NATO.

They welcomed recent moves towards NATO membership by Sweden. Citing Türkiye’s approval of Sweden’s NATO membership, they expressed their hope that Sweden would join NATO as soon as possible.
