Nikki Haley, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and a Republican presidential candidate, made a surprise cameo appearance on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live (SNL)” and went on the offensive against former President Donald Trump.

According to the New York Times (NYT) on the 4th (local time), former Ambassador Haley made a surprise appearance as a voter in a segment styled as a South Carolina town hall event. South Carolina is Haley’s home state, where she served as governor for eight years.

Haley stood up from the audience and asked an actor dressed as Trump, “Would you like to debate with Nikki Haley?” This was a jab at Trump’s refusal to participate in TV debates among Republican primary candidates.

The actor playing Trump responded, “Oh my god, it’s her. Nancy Pelosi, the security chief, January 6.” To which Haley replied, “Are you okay? You might need a mental competency test.” The actor playing Trump said, “I already aced the mental test. I have 100% mental power and am fully competent since I’m a male.”

On the 19th of last month, Trump, during a campaign event in New Hampshire, repeatedly confused the names of former House Speaker Pelosi and Haley while mentioning the person who was responsible for the U.S. Capitol riot that occurred on January 6, 2021.

Furthermore, when asked by the host, “What do you think was the main cause of the Civil War? Do you think it’s a word that starts with ‘S’ and ends with ‘lavery’ (Slavery)?” Haley responded, “Yes, I should have said that first.” This question was brought up from the event in New Hampshire last December that Haley had received. At that time, Haley faced severe criticism for failing to mention slavery as the cause that sparked the Civil War.
