Putin’s Love Life: Rumors Swirl of Romance with Woman 32 Years Younger

Allegations have been raised that Russian President Vladimir Putin is dating a woman 32 years his junior.

The New York Post reported on the 19th (local time) that Putin and Ekaterina Katya Mizulina, the representative of the Safe Internet League, have recently been getting along.

Mizulina, a British-born art historian, is the head of the “Safe Internet League,” a quasi-governmental organization that assists with Russian censorship. She is the daughter of Yelena Mizulina, who is considered a hard-line pro-Putin Russian legislator. Before joining the Safe Internet League, Mizulina worked as an interpreter for the Russian delegation or criticized oppression against President Putin.

In response to the news of their relationship, Russian human rights activist Olga Romanova said on Ukraine Channel 24, “Katya Mizulina fits Putin’s taste. The Barbie type has always suited Putin very well.”

Previously, in 2014, rumors circulated that Putin, after divorcing his wife, Lyudmila, who had been with him for 30 years, was dating Olympic rhythmic gymnastics gold medalist Alina Kabayeva. Rumors that the couple had children together sparked controversy.
