According to China’s state-run Global Times on the 26th, Chinese visitors were denied entry to the 2024 Singapore Airshow held on the 24th.

The controversy started when a Chinese man with the account name Chen Jian Zhi Fei revealed on Weibo (微博·Chinese version of Twitter) on the 24th about an unpleasant incident at the 2024 Singapore Airshow.

He posted, “In front of the Airbus A400M transport aircraft, German soldiers and Airbus employees were asking the spectators in line about their nationality, saying ‘Chinese and Russian nationals cannot board.'”

Another Weibo user said, “Chinese aviation fans felt disgusted by this incident.” There were also claims that German soldiers even shoved Chinese spectators.

On WeChat (微信·Chinese version of KakaoTalk), a video of an attendee asking an employee if Chinese nationals could board and the employee responding negatively became a hot topic.

In response to the mounting criticism, Airbus immediately apologized. Airbus told the Global Times, “We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this incident,” and indicated that “Chinese visitors will be allowed to board freely during the remaining period.”
