North Korea begins idolizing Kim Jong-un’s daughter Kim Ju-ae… called ‘female general’.

[iNews24 Reporter Jung Seung-Pil] Reports are surfacing that Kim Ju-ae, the daughter of North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-un, is being idolized within North Korea as ‘the Morning Star General of Korea.’

On the 8th, North Korea’s Central TV reported that Chairman Kim Jong-un, his wife Ri Sol-ju, and their daughter Kim Ju-ae visited the military officer’s lodge on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Army. [Photo=Newsis]

Radio Free Asia (RFA), a U.S. media outlet focusing on North Korea, quoted a source in Pyongyang on the 27th (local time) as saying, “On the 23rd, at a commemorative lecture celebrating the launch of a military reconnaissance satellite, Kim Ju-ae was referred to as ‘the Morning Star General of Korea.'”

According to the lecture, “The reconnaissance satellite, always seizing the military prayers of hostile forces with the highest dignity, is deployed in space, opening the era of space power in Korea,” and “The future of the era of space power will shine even brighter due to ‘the Morning Star General of Korea.'”

The source told RFA that ‘the Morning Star General of Korea’ is a title referring to Kim Ju-ae, and that “This is the first time that the honorific ‘Morning Star of Korea,’ used to promote Kim Il-sung’s early revolutionary activities, has been applied to his own child.”

In response to this, Thae Yong-ho, a former North Korean diplomat and current member of the People Power Party, analyzed on Facebook on the 28th that ‘if this is true, the internal situation in North Korea is serious.’

Thae said, “Until now, North Korean media have only referred to Kim Jong-un’s daughter as ‘beloved child’ and ‘respected child.’ If North Korea is using the successful satellite launch to idolize and deify Kim Jong-un’s teenage daughter, it means that the top echelons of the North Korean leadership have completed internal procedures to appoint Kim Jong-un’s daughter as his successor.”

Thae continued, “When it became visually apparent to the residents that Kim Jong-il was having difficulty walking due to a stroke, the idolization and deification of Kim Jong-un began in early 2009. At the age of 24, he was given the title ‘Comrade Kim,’ and the song ‘Footsteps’ was forced to be sung nationwide.”

He added, “Even at that time, there was no party meeting officially announcing Kim Jong-un as the successor, but when the title ‘Comrade Kim’ was given to Kim Jong-un, North Korean residents judged that the process of appointing a successor had ended.”

He concluded, “If it is true that the idolization and deification of Kim Jong-un’s teenage daughter has begun in association with the successful satellite launch, it is too much even by North Korean standards and common sense. North Korean residents would also judge that there are health problems with Kim Jong-un, hence the rush to appoint a successor.”
